Sapthagiri Express Movie Genuine Review & Rating

Watc Video :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIGSekfBmN4

Release date : December 23, 2016
Rating : 2.75/5
Director : Arun Pawar
Producer : Dr. K. Ravi Kirane
Music Director : Bulganin
Starring : Saptagiri, Roshni Prakash

Story:-
Sapthagiri(Sapthagiri), the son of head constable Shiva prasad(Dr.Shiva prasad) aims to become an actor. But his father wishes to see him an IAS officer. Due to some unexpected turn of events, Sapthagiri becomes a police constable.
What incidents forced him to become a constable? What happens to his dream of becoming an actor? What problems did he face as a cop? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points: –
Sapthagiri impress in his role to an extent. His dialogues in Parashurama and Duryodhana gets up are quite good. Shakala Shankar’s situational comedy is one of the major highlights of this movie and entertains for most of the time during the second half.
Some comedy scenes during the second half are handled quite well by director Arun Pawan. Dr. Shiva Prasad impresses with his acting as hero’s father. Posani and Sayaji Shinde do a decent job in their roles. Some scenes that showcase the tragic lives of police constables have been showcased well.
Minus Points: –
The film takes a lot of time to get into the actual story. Because of this, the entire first half feels like a huge drag. Heroine Roshni has nothing to do in the movie and appears only for the songs. Also, the love track between the lead pair is very boring.
Some scenes featuring Sapthagiri and his friends irritate the audience big time. There is no seriousness in the proceedings as the major negative characters are quite dull. The way hero takes his revenge and the manner in which these scenes are showcased are quite over the top.
Senior actors like Dr.Shiva prasad, Posani and Sayaji Shinde are given very limited screen space to perform. Even the songs that come during regular intervals put you off at once.
Technical Aspects: –
Camerawork by Ram Prasad is not up to the mark. Editing by Gautham Raju is disappointing as many scenes during the first half could have been easily chopped off. Music by Bulganin is decent and production values are also very good for a limited budget movie. Screenplay by Sapthagiri has many loose ends and does not elevate the film much.

Vangaveeti Movie Genuine Review & Rating | RGV | Sandeep | Naina Ganguly

Watch Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAwLC_bs9qo

Release date : December 23, 2016
Rating : 3/5
Director : Ram Gopal Varma
Producer : Dasari Kiran kumar
Music Director : Ravi Shankar
Starring : Sandeep Kumar, Vamsi Nakkanti, Vamsi Chaganti, Naina Ganguly

Story:-
The story is set amidst two famous rival groups of Vanagveeti and Devineni family in Vijayawada. Vangaveeti Radha(Sandy) is a small time rowdy who becomes huge in Vijayawada. As expected, his growth and popularity are hated by his rival group of Devineni family and they assassinate him with a perfect plan. Rest of the story is all about how the members of both the families end up killing each other.
Plus Points:-
One of the biggest assets of the film is undoubtedly the young actor Sandy. He is just astonishing and plays both his roles of Radha and Ranga with aplomb. Credit should go to RGV for showcasing him in a stunning way. Sandy is surely one actor to watch out for in the future and Varma makes his role and characterization quite gripping.
The detailing of the brutal murders and the way they are sketched are planned are showcased in a stunning way. RGV plays his cards quite cleverly as he does not take any sides and showcases the film in a very politically correct manner. Interval bang and the assassination of Devineni Murali have been showcased in a superb way.Happy days actor, Vamsi Krishna has also done a commendable job. His role has good importance and he too is a good addition to the film. All the artists chosen look apt for their roles and do a decent job. Special mention to the background score as it lifts the film completely.
Minus Points:-
The climax of the film is ended on a simple note. All those who do not know about the history of these gang wars in Vijayawada will find the film quite routine as the film has only a revenge drama of killing each other. The inclusion of NTR and the way his character decides things at the end might create some tension among certain groups.
The story of these groups has so much history that RGV has skipped some very important parts of it and only narrated the film in quite a straight forward manner. There is a lot of bloodshed in the film as the murders shown are very brutal and might not be liked by a major section of the audience.
Technical Aspects:-
As expected, the visuals of the film are top notch. The drone camera angles and the way the rustic locales of Vijayawada are shown is superb. Production values by Kiran Kumar are very impressive as the art department has done a great job of showcasing the proceedings during the 80’s in a good manner. Editing is sleek and so were the dialogues by Sirasri.
Coming to the director RGV, Vangaveeti is far better film than his previous duds as he narrates the film in a gripping manner for most parts. His screenplay during the murder scenes and the way he executes performance for his artists is very good. Taking wise, there is nothing new from RGV but it is the way with which he has chosen actors who look exactly similar to the original ones and made them enact is the best part fo the film. Also, his satirical voice-over throughout the film is very interesting.
Verdict :-
Vangaveeti is surely RGV’s better films that have come out in the recent past. The film will be viewed from different perspectives as all those who knew the entire story will like it immensely. But for those, who do not know the back story can find this film as a routine revenge drama with some RGV mark. The film has a terrific buzz in Andhra Pradesh and will be watched quite heavily just for the curiosity factor. Finally, if you liked RGV’s Rakhta Charitra, you will also like Vangaveeti as it falls in the same category of the terrific gang war films which RGV showcases quite realistically.

Okkadochadu Revie And Rating

Release date : December 23, 2016
Rating : 2.25/5
Director : Suraaj
Producer : G. Hari
Music Director : Hiphop Tamizha
Starring : Vishal, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu
“Okkadochadu” (Kaththi Sandai in Tamil) is probably the last bilingual of the year and this film releases amidst stiff competition from ‘Vangaveeti’ and ‘Saptagiri Express’ the other two much-anticipated Telugu releases. “Okkadochadu” is Vishal’s second Telugu release in 2016 with his previous outing being the average “Rayudu”. So let’s sit back and read on to know what this Vishal and Tamanna starrer “Okkadochadu” has in store for us!
Story :
“Okkadochadu” starts out simply enough by showing DGP Chandrabose (Jagapathi Babu) as a daredevil cop who successfully captures Deva (Sampath) and recovers 50 crores from him. Vishal makes his entry as Arjun, the small town boy, who has come to the big bad city to pursue Divya (Tamanna). Despite being clueless about his background, Divya falls in love with Arjun and they are all set to take it forward. DGP Chandrabose, Divya’s brother, approves the match when in a sudden twist Arjun reveals his identity as a CBI officer and confiscates 250 crores from the DGP. In the next scene, it is revealed that Arjun is not a CBI officer and this was an elaborate plan to steal the 250 crores from the DGP and Deva who are working together!
What is Arjun’s motive for doing this? What is his background? How does he manage to evade the DGP and Deva who are in his pursuit? The answer to these questions is what the rest of “Okkadochadu” is all about!
Plus Points:
What works for “Okkadochadu” are the character of DGP Chandrabose and Deva played by Jagapathi Babu and Sampath. These two fine actors add some depth to their characters and give the audience something to look forward too.
Vishal, who is there in almost every scene, performs decently enough despite the script not offering him too much scope to excel. Tamannah looks good in songs.
Minus Points:
“Okkadochadu” falters hugely thanks to a loose script that does not build up the narrative. The first half sees nothing happening until the last 10 minutes leading to the intermission. Tamanna hardly has any screen-time in the second half except for a song and 3 scenes.
Huge stretches of screen time are dedicated to Vadivelu’s jarring comic track that is just not funny. The songs are forced into the screenplay and they end up stretching the run time due to their generic nature.
Technical Aspects:
The action sequences around the car chase was choreographed well and kept one engaged. The music by Hip Hop Thamizha was lost thanks to the unimaginative choreography. The director should have focused in keeping the first half engaging.

Dangal Movie Review

BOTTOM LINE
Wrestlers Win Hearts
OUR RATING 4.5/5
CENSOR ‘U’ Certified

What is the film about?
Dangal, as everyone must be aware by now, is a biopic of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan). How he coaches his daughters to medal glory for India is basically what the film is all about.

How is Aamir Khan’s performance?
Aamir Khan is a big star and usually, in a big star’s movie, stars are the focus out and out. That’s true for most of the stars and there is nothing wrong with it as long as the purpose of making an engaging movie is served. But when it comes to Aamir Khan there are many examples to show where he lets others steal the show, when needed, if it makes for a better film. Dangal is the latest example of the same quality. Aamir Khan is present almost right through but he doesn’t make the film all about him. Also, he doesn’t make his “highly promoted” body hog the limelight, it is present, it is visible but it never is the point. Even in terms of acting, he is superb in emotional scenes and as a strict father. The biggest highlight is that he a Superstar drawing our attention but he is also an actor who only shows a character as a character should be seen.

Nitesh Tiwari Direction

Nitesh Tiwari has made two films, Chillar Party and Bhoothnath Returns. If people are not aware both the movies were liked at some level with the former getting bigger praise. What’s more, it is a film dealing with children. That experience comes in handy for Dangal while dealing the initial phase of wrestling as kids. Dangal in nutshell is a sports film even though it a biopic. There is only so much one can do with that genre, a formula is to be followed. If not done rightly it makes for a clichéd viewing. If the emotions aren’t right it feels very fake and unnatural. Nitesh Tiwari gets it right on all these scores. He makes the proceedings lively and engaging without boring. The biggest challenge for a sports movie is to get “sport” right. We saw what happens when they get that right in Aamir Khan’s Lagaan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India, it is an exhilarating experience. Dangal is right on par with them as it gets the wrestling sequence spot on. It is as if watching a real wrestling match on screen. The pre-climax match, for example, is sensational. In the end, Dangal is a film that gets a rooted and realistic story adapted perfectly in a “cinematic” way on screen. It is dramatic without being too melodramatic. It is this perfect tightrope balance that makes it a winner and must watch movie.

Sakshi Tanwar and others?

Dangal is filled with small but memorable performances. Everyone is perfectly cast and that deserves a great applause. Sakshi Tanwar is perfect as a housewife. Her presence is felt throughout despite a less screen time. Zaira Wasim and Fatima Sana Shaikh playing the younger and older versions of Geeta Phogat are a revelation. They convey the emotions perfectly and also look every bit as a wrestler in the wrestler sequences. Sanya Malhotra and Suhani Bhatnagar as older and younger Babita too are mighty impressive. These four actors are the soul of the movie. Aparshakthi Khurrana too is easily likable albeit in a small and honest role.

Music and other departments?

Music by Pritam is terrific, especially the title track. By terrific one doesn’t mean the songs are chartbuster quality rather they elevate the mood perfectly and are full of melody at the same time. The background score is good too. Sethu has given wonderful feel with his cinematography especially visible in pre-climax and climax wrestling competitions. The wrestling scenes are stunningly shot. Editing is razor sharp.

Highlights?
Actor and casting Wrestling scenes (Geeta – Naomi Semi final block & Finals) Raw and rustic with cinematic quality
